Long Echo

Dobropillja is located in eastern Ukraine, less than 100 kilometers away from the contested border with the areas controlled by pro-Russian separatists. At first glance, the conflict seems to be only a side note in the lives of the townspeople. They go about their daily lives, as zoo directors and museum guides, in heavy metal bands or at the Lonely Hearts Club. And yet the thunder of the near front penetrates the lives of the people here as well, settling over the city like a gray veil. Long Echo tells of the lives of the inhabitants on the periphery of an almost forgotten war with its intense depiction of everyday life in sometimes bizarre scenes. LANGES ECHO premiered at the Swiss Festival „Visions du réel“ in Nyon in 2017.
